The ABCC was delighted to host guest speakers from DP World UAE, headed by H E Mr Abdulla Bin Damithan, CEO & Managing Director, Mr Anders Kron, Business Development Manager – Europe and Mr Raveen Guliani, Director Trade & Logistics, who briefed delegates on the range of investment opportunities in Jebel Ali Port and Freezone (JAFZA) and answered questions from an audience of UK exporters and investors.
Our distinguished panellists included Mr Bradley Jones, Executive Director of the UAE-UK Business Council, and Mr Carl Stephen Patrick Hunter OBE, Chairman of British Exporters Association (BExA). The discussion was chaired by the Rt Hon Baroness Symons, Chairman, ABCC, with the participation of Mr Bandar Reda, ABCC Secretary General & CEO, and Mr Abdeslam El-Idrissi, ABCC Deputy CEO & Secretary General.
The trade seminar focused on the various opportunities and advantages offered by the different sites that are fully consolidated businesses within DP World UAE, which is part of the DP World Group, namely:
Jebel Ali Port, a leading international gateway port and the second largest outside of Asia, ideally located to serve the East-West trade corridor through its connectivity to 150 cities globally via 180+ shipping lanes.
Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZ), which is the largest free zone in the Middle East and one of the largest in the world. The renowned free zone is home to companies from 140 countries, including approximately 150 Fortune 500 enterprises.
Finally, the National Industries Park, a 21 km2 area specially designated for manufacturing and processing companies.
The seminar speakers provided insights for companies seeking out new opportunities in sectors such as Logistics; Petrochemicals; Food, Livestock & Agriculture; Healthcare and Pharmaceuticals; Automotive & Spare Parts; Retail & E-commerce; Electronics & Electrical; and Fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG).
