The ABCC was pleased to host an exclusive event yesterday evening for members, friends, partners, and the wider business community titled “Navigating Dubai Business Setup & Taxation” in central London.

The sold-out event, subtitled “A Practical Guide for UK Entrepreneurs”, took place at The Conservatory, Millennium Gloucester Hotel London Kensington, and was organised by the ABCC in collaboration with IFZA Free Zone in Dubai, WellTax, Dubai Chambers, and the British Chamber of Commerce Dubai (BCCD).

Opening the event, ABCC Interim Secretary-General & CEO, Mrs Rita Massoud, MBA, FCIPD, welcomed the strong turnout of guests, delegates, members, and entrepreneurs for what proved to be a highly practical and insightful discussion on doing business in Dubai. Mrs Massoud thanked all organisations involved in supporting the initiative, as well as Millennium Hotels and Resorts for hosting the event.

The speakers shared informative and up-to-date perspectives on Dubai’s business, investment, and taxation landscape, while highlighting opportunities for stronger UK-UAE commercial cooperation.

Mr Basim Al-Ahmadi, Chief Representative – UK Office at Dubai Chambers, highlighted Dubai’s strong economic growth, rising UK investment, and emerging opportunities across sectors including real estate, clean energy, AI, technology, and innovation.

Mr Ola Idris, Head of Channel Partnerships, UK at IFZA, outlined the advantages of Dubai’s free zones, emphasising efficient business setup solutions, full foreign ownership, operational flexibility, and support for UK businesses expanding into the UAE.

Mr Michele Ammirati, ACMA, CGMA, Managing Partner, and Mr Lorenzo Silvano Giuseppe Tosonotti CIMA Dip MA, Founding Partner at WellTax Limited, provided practical insights into the UAE’s evolving corporate tax, VAT, and transfer pricing framework, stressing the importance of compliance, documentation, and specialist tax advice.

The event received very positive feedback from attendees, including ABCC members, who particularly valued the practical insights shared by the expert panel and the networking opportunities with fellow professionals and business leaders.
