The Chamber took part in a highly productive visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia whose aims were twofold: to attend and participate in the Best of Britain Saudi Arabia 2013 exhibition and to engage and strengthen relations with senior decision makers from the local Chambers, government bodies and leading Ministers from key Ministries in the Kingdom. In a busy and productive series of meetings, the ABCC delegation led by Baroness Symons and Dr Afnan Al-Shuaiby met with: HE Dr Ibrahim bin Abdulaziz Al-Assaf, the Minister of Finance, HH Prince Turki bin Mohamed bin Saud Al Kabeer, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Multi-Relations Affairs, HRH Ahmad Al Saud, a prominent Saudi businessman and lawyer, Mr Hussein Al-Adel, Secretary-General of the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce and Industry, HE Dr Mohammad Al Jasser, Minister of Economy, HE Mr Abdullatif A. Al-Othman, Governor and Chairman of the Board of Directors of SAGIA, and HE Dr Mohammed bin Abdulkareem Al-Issa, Minister of Justice. The ABCC delegation also attended the opening of the Best of Britain exhibition and the workshops that took place at the Nayyara Banqueting and Convention Centre in Riyadh, as well as the Best of Britain Fashion Show Reception at the British Embassy, which formed part of the Best of Britain Saudi Arabia 2013.
