The Chamber signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) on 13 April. The MoU aims to strengthen economic and investment ties between the UK and Sharjah in order to increase mutual cooperation and promote Sharjah as a prime investment location. The Secretary General signed the MOU on behalf of the ABCC during a ceremony held at the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park Hotel. The signing took place in the presence of Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairperson of Shurooq, HE Abdulrahman Ghanim Almutaiwee, UAE Ambassador to the UK, Sheikh Mohammed bin Maktoum Al Maktoum, First Secretary at the UAE Embassy, HE Marwan bin Jassim Al Sarkal, CEO of Shurooq, and Saud Al Suwaidi, Director of International Relations and Partnerships at Shurooq
