Following the success of the Arab-British Economic Forum, a week later the Chamber organised the Qatari-British Economic Forum with an aim to strengthen cooperation between the United Kingdom and the State of Qatar. The Forum coincided with the official UK visit of H H Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar. The event brought together government officials and senior executives from Qatar and the UK and was opened by H E Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al Thani, Qatari Minister of Economy & Commerce. The Forum, at the London Hilton, Park Lane, included a session on Doing Business in Qatar, as well as three workshops running simultaneously. The topics of the workshops were as follows: the 2022 World Cup, Challenges in Qatar’s Energy Sector, and Sovereign Investment Fund & Investment Opportunities. The event was proclaimed an enormous success on both the domestic and international side.
