ABCC hosts exclusive seminar to highlight Abu Dhabi as the “trade and industrial hub of the future”

The ABCC was delighted to host an exclusive business seminar and networking event the morning of 5 March in cooperation with the Embassy of the UAE in London and KEZAD Group, part of AD Ports, at the Carlton Tower Jumeirah in Knightsbridge, London. The seminar attracted more than one hundred top UK business executives.

Formally opening the discussion, H E Mr Mansoor Abulhoul, UAE Ambassador to the UK, described the remarkable transformation that the emirate has undergone over the course of only a generation. Abu Dhabi’s strategic location and its vision were its prime assets in attracting investors and increased trade flows, the Ambassador remarked.

Welcoming delegates, Mr Bandar Reda, ABCC Secretary General & CEO, spoke of the increased number of UK companies asking about the growing opportunities that are emerging in Abu Dhabi.

The Rt Hon Baroness Symons of Vernham Dean, ABCC Chairman, introduced the speakers and chaired the panel discussion.  She described KEZAD as taking the lead in the dynamic economic development of Abu Dhabi and stated that the time had never been better for doing business between the two countries.

Speakers anticipated closer and deeper ties emerging between the UK and the UAE particularly on successful completion of the UK-GCC Free Trade Agreement.

KEZAD executives led by CEO Mr Mohamed Al Khadar Al Ahmed explained how the group’s integrated trade, logistics and industrial free zones help to position Abu Dhabi as the “trade and industrial hub of the future”. The speakers outlined the numerous opportunities on offer to large and smaller corporations across different sectors.

The event continued the productive partnership forged between the ABCC and KEZAD Group, which was last seen at the Arab British Economic Summit 2023 in November.
