The ABCC hosted an ambassadorial roundtable via webinar with His Royal Highness Prince Khalid Bin Bandar Bin Sultan Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to London, on 22nd July 2020. The proceedings were chaired by Rt Hon Baroness Symons, chairman of the ABCC.
The discussion focused on opportunities for investors in the Kingdom under the Vision 2030 programme.
His Excellency Mr Ajlan Al Ajlan, the Chairman of the Council of Saudi Chambers and the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce & Industry, joined the webinar and contributed a perspective from the Saudi private sector.
The Saudi Ambassador began by stating that the Kingdom had an incredibly young population, 60 percent of whom were under 30 years of age. Saudi Vision 2030 was above all about creating opportunities and building a new country for the future generation.
In its response to the Covid-19 pandemic, the KSA had been working hard to get back to business and would be announcing the resumption of scheduled flights within the next few days, with visas for business visitors to follow.
His Excellency Mr Ajlan Al Ajlan stated that there were many new opportunities for the private investors in different sectors in the Kingdom, He felt that opportunities for cooperation between the UK and Saudi chambers would improve as we come out of the pandemic.
Mr Bandar Reda, ABCC CEO & Secretary General, described how the chamber had been introducing new services to support its members, such as the new weekly British business briefing which it had recently launched.
The webinar attracted more than two hundred viewers and received much positive feedback from the audience.
